Faces In The Gym - June 2009

Perfect Balance Level 5 The Level 5 girls of Perfect Balance in Mays Landing, New Jersey are state champion. Teams members include: L to R (bottom bar) Emily Hoang, Hannah Bonelli, Hailey Stack, Erin Howell, Brenna Risley L to R (top bar) Laura Higbee, Alex Peters, Giavanna Renzi, Amber Klimecke coached by Tom Waddell and Meagan O'Toole.

Guilbault Girls The Guilbault Girls, Victoria (left), Level 3 - age 8, Nicole (right), Level 5 - age 12 and Monique (center), Level 3 - age 6, all compete at Loudoun Gymnastics Center in Northern Virginia. The girls are coached by Debbie, Brian, and sometimes their own Mom who also teaches at LGC. At their last meet, they won 11 medals among all three of them!

Kaylynn Pride Kaylynn Pride, 9, finished her Level 4 season tied for the 2009 Maryland State Championship title. She tied for first place with an all around score of 37.500. She also placed first on floor with a 9.475. She trains at North Shore Gymnastics and her Coaches are Iris Thompson and Leanne Higgins The Level 4 team of four North Shore girls, did an amazing job to win fifth place in the team competitions.

Brooke Simonson At the Pennsylvania Level 5 State Championships held on May 3, 2009, Brooke Simonson, 9, from Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center, captured first place on bars with a 9.475. She tied for second place on beam with a 9.275 and fourth on floor with a 9.45. She took third place all-around with a 36.375. Brooke is coached by John Min and Kira Williams and has been a Parkette since she was 2 yrs old.

Katie Won Katie Won is a Level 9 gymnast at Arizona Dynamics. At State Meet Katie placed second on vault, bars and beam and third all-around. She competed in Regionals, taking fifth on vault, third on bars, and fifth all-around. This qualified her to Western Nationals for Region 1. Her region 1 team took second place for Junior 2 age group. Katie is coached by Michelle Farrelly, Burton Howell, and Craig Keaty.

Countryside Gymnastics Countryside Gymnastics had a successful season. The Level 4 team was undefeated and State Champions! All of the Levels 5-8 team qualified to Regionals and there were five North Carolina State Team members. Isabella Trojanek Isabella Trojanek, 10, is a Level 4 gymnast with Midwest Elite Gymnastics Academy. She won numerous all-around and individual event titles in her first season in competitive gymnastics, including the 2009 Midwest Open all-around and floor titles and the 2009 Chicago Style beam and floor titles. At the 2009 Illinois - North State Gymnastics Championships she placed second in the all-around with a personal best score of 37.675! She also helped her team win the senior and combined age group state titles! She is training as a Level 5 and is coached by Ileana Albu, Donna Nowak and John Meservey.

Adrenaline Gymnastics Adrenaline Gymnastics Optional Team had an outstanding 2009 Colorado State Championship season with Five All-Around champions, 13 individual event gold medal finishes, and the Level 7 & 8 teams winning their respective overall state championships. AGA’s Optional teams are coached by Aaron Gallegos, Steve Sterner, and Jackie Steeples. Abby Fargo Abby Fargo, 11, is the 2009 Massachusetts All-Around state champion in the Prep Optional Novice division. She took first on beam and floor. She had an all-around score of 37.125. She also placed fifth on bars. Her team, Massachusetts Gymnastics Center in Hingham, took first place as a team in the novice division.

Nolan Williamson Nolan Williamson, 9, is a Level 6 gymnast at Midwest Elite Gymnastics Academy in South Barrington, Ill. In addition to winning several first place all-around and individual event titles this season, he also qualified for and competed in Regionals where he won third place on parallel bars. His personal best on parallel bars during the season was 15.5 (at the State competition). Currently Nolan is training for level 7 and is coached by former Ohio State National Championship team member, Steve Merena.

Miara Tang Miara Tang, 8, just moved up to level 5 at Cascade Elite Gymnastics. She had a very successful year as a Level 4! Making it to the Gold Level 4 State Meet and being the All Around Champion at Seattle Open were some of her memorable moments! Miara has been practicing gymnastics at CEG for 2 years and dreams of representing the United States in the Olympic Games, or being on the gymnastics team in college!

Phantom Gymnastics In only its third year in existence, Phantom Gymnastics of Hampstead, N.H., took five state team titles in the 2008-2009 season! Level 4 team took the Winter 2008 State Championship, Level 5 and 6 each took the 2009 State Championship titles and the Prep Op Intermediate and Advanced teams each took the 2009 State Championship titles! Level 7's took third with our first optional team! Level 8, Kiki Szoskotkiewcz, was the Region 6 Floor Champion!

Elite Gymnastics Academy The Level 6 Team from Elite Gymnastics Academy in Ashland, Mass., concluded their undefeated 2008-2009 season with a win in the Massachusetts State Championship meet. The team won a total of nine meets this season and consists of top row L to R: Veronica Rios, Julia Schaefer, Mary Connelly, Madeline O'Neil.
