Conner is one of five inducted into Oklahoma Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Nov. 5, 2009 – 1984 Olympic gold-medalist Bart Conner was one of five inducted into the Oklahoma Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor by Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business on Nov. 4. Conner received the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award during the ceremony at the Cox Business Services Convention Center.

In addition to Conner, the other honorees were: Harold Hamm, recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award; C. Stephen Lynn, Chairman’s Award; Robert Z. Naifeh, President’s Award; and Judy Love, Lifetime Achievement Award.

Conner co-owns several gymnastics-related business interests, including the Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy in Norman and International Gymnast magazine. He and his wife, Nadia Comaneci, are involved in several charities, including the executive board of Special Olympics International and the board of directors of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They continue to travel the world delivering inspirational speeches, as well as promoting their charities, gymnastics, fitness and healthy lifestyles. He is already a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame and the U.S. Olympic Committee Hall of Fame.
